About The Show
Is This Normal? is the debut one-woman storytelling show by award-winning performer Ansa Edim. Through a series of painfully true and occasionally unhinged stories, Edim explores the chaos of modern dating, medical gaslighting, and the deeply awkward process of learning to advocate for yourself.

She’s been unknowingly engaged—twice. Swam with whale sharks to make an ex jealous. Said “I love you” mid-panic attack. Told doctors about chronic pain, only to be told to “lose weight.” These are just a few of the moments Edim unpacks with sharp humor, emotional depth, and the kind of brutal honesty that makes audiences gasp, laugh, and nod along.
At its core, the show asks a question many women keep buried: Is it me? Or is this whole thing broken?

Premiered at the 2024 Edinburgh Festival Fringe to 4-star reviews and named Best Storytelling at the 2025 NYC Fringe, Is This Normal? is for anyone who’s ever been dismissed, overlooked, or told to smile through the pain. A story about what happens when you finally stop trying to be “normal”—and start telling the truth instead.
